I cannot express highly enough that the roasted seafood tower is a MUST. We told our waiter about this so he asked when we needed to leave and made sure our food arrived in time for us to enjoy it and not feel like we had to quickly eat. We were slightly pushed for time (our table was not yet ready when we arrived, the only slight negative to our experience since we were pushed for time). Since we wanted to try as many things a possible, we ordered based on the fact that we would want to share with each other. We had an extraordinary meal that I will not soon forget. I went with a small group to Maple and Ash for my birthday. Very good acoustics along with the food & service in such a gracious setting made for a very special evening. There were some tiny service blips but nothing outrageous and it was a pleasure to dine in a restaurant where I didn’t strain to hear my companion. Well balanced medium roast coffee was a pleasure to drink along with an after dinner digestif. For dessert an enormous thin slice of coconut custard pie and an Apple galette. Another side of asparagus was nicely roasted & seasoned but we could only eat a few stalks. My husband loved his meal & the potato gratin. The yellowfin carpaccio had the perfect amount of citrus & pepper bite, my wagyu strip with a side of truffled whipped potatoes was heaven & I would happily order that cut of meat again and again and again. All the food was delicious, and I felt like we received excellent value. Portions are large and one side dish could even serve as an appetizer for two guests. I would suggest sharing an appetizer and dessert and ordering individual mains. This is way too much food for even the heartiest of eaters. In fairness, we ordered with abandon: 2 starters, 2 sides, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. It’s an expensive menu and our meal for two came to roughly $400. We came to celebrate a birthday and were warmly greeted with complimentary chamomile martinis (delicious!), a souvenir birthday menu and well wishes. It’s a beautiful restaurant, romantic yet not overly fussy, so it would also work well as a business dinner venue. The What If Syndicate is also behind the upcoming Italian restaurant Etta, which opens next month in Culver City. There is much to love at Maple & Ash. The group has restaurants across Chicago and now - much like the Boka Group that has given Los Angeles its own Girl & the Goat - is heading toward the West Coast. Maple & Ash is part of the larger What If Syndicate, a restaurant group run by Michelin-starred chef Danny Grant and several partners. As for the menu once Maple & Ash comes to life, expect lots of steakhouse basics from the filet mignon to the bone-in ribeye, with a la carte seafood (from Alaskan king crab to Maine lobster), sides, and salads to boot. Beverly Drive, though there is no timetable yet for its arrival What Now LA was first to report the address. Reps for the restaurant have confirmed that Maple & Ash will open at the MGM building at 235 N. The restaurant already has a second location in Scottsdale, Arizona, and a third is planned for Dallas, Texas as well. The upscale restaurant, which opened half a decade ago, has quickly become one of the highest-grossing independent restaurants in the entire country and is now seeking to expand its footprint across the country. Chicago steakhouse staple Maple & Ash is coming to Beverly Hills soon, adding more wow factor to what may be the busiest neighborhood in Los Angeles right now.įor those unfamiliar, Maple & Ash is a Gold Coast powerhouse in the greater Chicago area.
